Take Your Garden With You Floral Jewelry

I'm a addicted to flowers.  Though lilies and roses are my favorites, I don't think there's a flower I don't love.  Flowers are not limited to my garden either.  You'll find floral motifs throughout our home and in my jewelry box.  I just can't resist a blossom, especially if I can take it with me everywhere.

Take a look at this handcrafted flower blossom bracelet:

It is truly like a corsage on your wrist. Yummy Cherry Quartz big flat twisted oval gemstone beads have gorgeous cherry rose color and are transluscent with pretty veining. Combined in this bracelet with Freshwater Pearls in creamy white. Focal is the hand carved flower blossom which looks like a breeze is gently ruffling the petals. Hand wire wrapped with sterling with a cascade of freshwater pearls for a stamen. Sterling silver accents.  Browse Bittersweet Ridge for more unusual one of a kind floral jewelry creations.

Summer Rose and Honey Bee Garden Jewelry

I love to sip my first cup of coffee out on the back porch.  It feels so private with lush wisteria covering the pergola roof, yet there are distant vistas of our meadows to stretch the eye.  Hummingbirds are fluttered from flower to flower and honey bees are working their magic in the garden.  The smell of lilies and roses is incredibly sweet that it is intoxicating.

Drunk on flower scents is a good way to be in my studio.  My own flowers inspire a lot of my work.  This handcrafted pink rose and honey bee bracelet is a good example.  It is composed of big beautiful sage green Aventurine is hand wire wrapped with vintage brass. Wonderful three dimensional vintage brass bee seems headed for the hand carved pink Rose Quartz rose. Pretty little carved Aventurine leaf accent.  Just one example of  lovely one of a kind flower garden jewelry from Bittersweet Ridge.

Bohemian Style Jewelry for this Summer

Perfect for this summer's bohemian fashions, this handcrafted chunky coral necklace shouts of fun, laughter, and happiness. I've taken huge, fat, chunky red coral barrel beads and used them for the centerpiece. They're graduated in size for a sensual curve and hot tomato red in color. Then I added some crazy hand painted porcelain vintage beads that I've had in my stash for years. Buttercup yellow background with a pop art design of tomato red, white and black. These are punctuated with little Black Onyx gemstone beads. Check out the citrine yellow crystals that add some sparkle to this piece. Silver accents. Extra long. Wear it short or wear extended long.
A wild and crazy necklace that is one of a kind and simply a joyful piece of handcrafted jewelry. Perfect for a night out clubbing or roaming the local farmers market in your favorite white T and blue jeans. Count on Bittersweet Ridge for jewelry that is unique and one of a kind.

Quench a Heat Wave with a Popsicle

It's shaping up to be a hot, dry summer here at Bittersweet Ridge.  We've begun our rain dances and watch the storms skirt around us.  We're up pretty early to work in the garden, weed and water the flowers, in order to beat the heat.  One treat that quenches our need for relief is a popsicle!  I recently read that popsicles came to be in 1905.  I had no idea.

In 1905, an 11 years olf boy, Frank Epperson, left a cup filled with powdered soda, water and a stirring stick on his porch overnight.  Low temps caused the mixture to freeze and a long time summer treat was born.  This year Popsicle (owned by the Unilever company) will release new Jolly Rancher flavors, however classic cherry is still the most popular.  Believe it or not, over two billion Popsicles are sold every year.

I must be in good company!

Feminine Copper Jewelry for Arthritis

Many believe that copper can help with the discomfort and pain of arthritis, as well as naturally heal joints themselves.  If you're looking for a feminine and fashionable alternative to plain copper jewelry, how about this handcrafted flower bracelet.  Creamy white in color, Mother of Pearl gemstone beads look terrific combined with copper in this handcrafted copper anklet. I used fancy little copper round beads and Mother of Pearl to hand wire wrap, along with a pretty hand carved flower blossom and leaf. A very feminine bracelet and a beautiful arthritis pain remedy.
